Edward Conlan
Edward completed his common law pupillage at Unity Street in 2024 and has remained a member of Chambers since.
He is known for his clear and pragmatic advocacy, as well as his approachable manner with both professional and lay clients.
Edward accepts instructions across Chambers’ core practice areas, with a particular focus on family law.

Family
Edward accepts instructions in all areas of family law with a particular focus and growing expertise in private law children disputes and financial remedy proceedings.
In private law, Edward regularly represents clients at all stages of proceedings, including cases involving complex issues of domestic abuse, parental alienation, relocation (both internal and external) and matters involving the Local Authority or the appointment of a Children’s Guardian. He has acted in several multi-day fact finding and final hearings.
Edward also acts in financial remedy proceedings, representing clients from the first directions appointment through to the final hearing, including enforcement and variation applications and cases involving non-engagement and non-disclosure of assets.
Edward is experienced in applications for non-molestation and occupation orders.
In public law proceedings, Edward has represented both Local Authorities and parents.
Civil
Edward is instructed across a broad range of civil matters, including small claims, fast track trials, possession proceedings and infant approval hearings. He frequently represents social housing providers seeking Anti-Social Behaviour Injunctions.
He has a particular interest in claims under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1996 (ToLATA). With a strong background in family law, he understands the specific challenges faced by clients in ToLATA disputes. His recent experience includes successfully negotiating a settlement at an Early Neutral Evaluation hearing and acting in a multi-day, multi-party preliminary issue hearing to determine the legal and beneficial interest in property.
Before pupillage, Edward volunteered with the Free Representation Unit. As part of his master’s degree, he advised vulnerable clients on matters relating to domestic abuse and detention under the Mental Health Act 1983.
