Emily joined chambers in 2023 after successfully completing a common law pupillage and now accepts instructions across all areas of chambers work.

- Girl Guiding Young Leader Qualification Planned and ran meetings, requiring excellent communication with the other leaders. Worked with girls of different ages, employing different leadership styles and listening skills.

- Mental Health First Aider Completed a two-day training course with Mental Health First Aid England. Utilised the training to assist victims of crime as Supervising Victim Advocate.

Details
Family
Emily has a developed a busy practice in family law, representing clients from first hearings through to final hearings. She has a particular interest in private children matters and financial remedies. In private children matters, she is instructed by both applicant and respondent parents and has experience representing children joined to proceedings. Emily has been instructed in cases involving allegations of domestic abuse and has represented clients at multi-day fact finding hearings. She prides herself on her ability to put anxious and vulnerable clients at ease, recognising that proceedings are emotionally traumatic for those involved.
Emily accepts instructions in matters involving family finance where she focuses on negotiation and settlement. She is looking to expand into disputes involving unmarried couples and claims made under the Trusts of Land and Appointment of Trustees Act 1989. She also has experience in injunctive relief applications and public children work.
Crime
Emily regularly prosecutes for the CPS and probation service in magistrates’ courts across the Southwest of England and South East of Wales. She also accepts instructions in defence work. She has experience supporting vulnerable witness and clients and always takes a personable approach.
Civil
Emily accepts instructions in civil matters and has built upon her experience gained as a county court advocate prior to pupillage. In that role she appeared in over 400 civil hearings, including possession proceedings, bankruptcy matters and infant approval hearings.
